SMOKIN JOE'S RACING
| Joe Boniferro, the owner of Joe's Transmission Service tears
up the track in his 1999 Dodge Avenger which features a Tim
McAmis chassis assembled by Tom VanDerGeld of Lowdown Hot Rods.
His car debuted in early 1999 and has been active since on the
Canadian Drag Racing Series and in IHRA Top Sportsman Quick
8. Joe's Dodge Avenger is powered by a 510 CID B-1 Koffel motor
built by Ed Wiens and self maintained by Joe. The engine is
rated at 2200+ HP and utilizes a 14-71 Littlefield supercharger
which is spun at 39%. Power is applied through a 3-speed Lenco
transmission to a Ford 9" rear gear set. The car weighs
in at 2600 lbs in legal IHRA Top Sportsman trim. The team qualified
number one in Top Sportsman at both Canadian IHRA National events.
Joe also won St Thomas Dragway's Can-Am Nationals and the Halloween
Classic Frantic 4 race at Norwalk Raceway Park. Smoking Joe's
